Art Site
This is the Art Site Design Project, (named for "Art Art Site"). We could use any photographer, painter, museum, etc. as long as it was Art related. This is just the design, NOT a website. I chose to display pictures from my friend, photographer Ian Wickstead (ianwickstead@gmail.com). The two photos in my header (me playing guitar, and the fall foliage) are also by Ian. They are actually part of the same photograph.
Color Selection
I chose my green colors (borders, some background, and letters) from Ian's picture. The yellow shade I got from a Border's Book Store online ad. Borders does great yellow.
Navigation
You can't really click on the "nav" buttons. These are just pictures. But when the button is yellow ("home" or "landscape" in these examples) that indicates how I would design the active button to appear. The "home" button displays text about Ian and a default picture. The "Landscape" button shows a filmstrip, and any thumbnail selected would display as the larger image. So the castle was done in the example.
In the second picture, the "Landscape" field is highlighted in yellow. The corresponding column to the right of navigation has changed to filmstrips of images within "Landscape". Clicking on, or hovering over (depending on CSS implementation) any of these pictures would display the larger image. The final different button or field is "Abstractions". Notice the green gets a little wider, and the text color changes to yellow. This simulates hovering a mouse over this field.
